The first recorded use of the name Dullingham was around the year 975 AD. The name comes from Old English and means “Homestead of the Dullingas, the people named after Dulla.” Dullingham is an agricultural community, but the proximity of Newmarket has meant that the equine industry has become increasingly important in recent years.
The village has a beautiful church, two pubs, a village hall and a sports field and pavilion. A network of footpaths provides easy access to the countryside. The railway station is approximately a mile outside the village.
